Simon and Tom from Trail Magazine on the summit. Wind measured 52mph but it was stronger on the way down!

Not a great day for photos! The remaining snow along Striding Edge is now wet (as is the Assessor!)

Very soft, fine powder snow and hail near the top of Browncove crags with Bassenthwaite Lake in the distance.

The summit cloud lifted revealing Whiteside, Catstye Cam and Brown Cove. Apologies for camera shake owing to high winds!

Slippery rocks again today with the recent snow thawing at almost all levels; it was zero degrees on the summit.

This scene would be different just an hour later with a further covering of light snow. Treacherous icy rocks beneath.
